The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Technician to join a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation based in Fareham.
Working within a highly skilled test team, you will play a key role in testing, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex electronic and electromechanical products used in demanding aerospace applications.
This position offers an excellent balance of hands‑on testing and diagnostics work, providing the opportunity to investigate faults to board and component level using a range of specialist test equipment.
You will work within a highly regulated manufacturing environment where quality, precision and attention to detail are critical.
Joining a small and supportive team, you will receive structured training, mentoring and buddy support before moving onto the twilight shift.

What you will be doing
As a Test Technician, your responsibilities will include
- Conduct functional, verification and calibration testing on electronic and electromechanical products using specialist test equipment and measurement instruments
- Diagnose faults and perform troubleshooting, failure analysis and root cause investigations to board and component level
- Record, analyse and communicate technical findings and test results to Engineering and Production teams
- Support repair, rework and assembly activities, including component removal and replacement as part of diagnostic investigations
- Follow approved test procedures, specifications and quality requirements within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Maintain ESD‑controlled working practices and provide flexible support across multiple products and manufacturing areas as business needs evolve
- What we are looking for
You will have a background in electronics testing, diagnostics or fault finding and enjoy solving technical problems and working within a quality‑driven manufacturing environment.
You will be comfortable using a range of test equipment and have a passion for identifying and resolving electronic faults.
- Experience within an electronics test, diagnostics, calibration or fault‑finding role
- Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
- Ability to follow technical instructions, specifications and procedures
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Aerospace, defence, power supply or electronics manufacturing experience
- IPC‑A‑610 certification or previous experience working to IPC standards
- Knowledge of J‑STD requirements ·
