A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Site Hygiene Manager to take full responsibility for hygiene operations across a high-care production site. This is a key leadership role with accountability for delivering exceptional hygiene standards across all shifts in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

The Role

  • Lead and manage site-wide hygiene operations across day and night shifts
  • Oversee and develop a large hygiene team, driving a high-performance culture
  • Ensure full compliance with retailer and regulatory hygiene and food safety standards
  • Take ownership of hygiene systems, driving continuous improvement and sustainable standards
  • Play a key role in audits, inspections, and customer interactions
  • Lead from the front with a hands-on, proactive approach
  • Support site performance through improvement and turnaround initiatives

About You

  • Proven experience in a hygiene leadership role within high-care food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of working to major UK retailer standards
  • Proven management experience, with the ability to act as the main site representative and key point of contact within the factory
  • Experience of managing managers and leading large operational teams (approximately 58 employees)
  • Strong understanding of audit preparation, audit staging, and audit hosting
  • HACCP qualified with a minimum Food Safety Level 3 certification
  • Working knowledge of COSHH regulations and food manufacturing compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, hold accountability for outcomes, and drive positive operational results
  • Strong resource management skills, ensuring efficient deployment of people and operational resources despite no direct budget responsibility
