Are you a detail-oriented administrator with a knack for logistics and a passion for customer service? We’re looking for a Transport Administrator to join our dynamic supply chain team within a leading FMCG business.
About the Role
This is a pivotal role focused on the administrative side of transport operations. While our transport is handled by a third-party logistics partner, you'll act as the vital link between internal teams, hauliers, and customers—ensuring smooth, cost-effective deliveries every day.
Responsibilities:
- Process daily customer orders and compile the transport diary
- Coordinate and communicate delivery schedules to hauliers
- Plan loads and optimises routing
- Track daily transport costs, fuel usage, and report discrepancies
- Update SAP systems with transport and cost data
- Ensure we're getting value for money—no unexpected costs or overcharges
Customer Interaction
Around 40% of your role will support our Customer Service team, helping to:
- Liaise with customers on order delays, shortages, and delivery issues
- Resolve invoice queries and manage PO processing
- Use customer portals to track, update, and respond efficiently
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a logistics, transport or supply chain admin role
- Good understanding of transport cost management
- Strong IT skills – Excel, Outlook, and ideally SAP
- Experience dealing with customers, hauliers, or major retailers
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling priorities

- Close collaboration with Planning and Materials teams
- You'll work independently, but with plenty of support from a friendly and experienced team
