The Role
As a Materials Engineer, you will form part of a small group who are responsible for supporting all aspects of materials engineering and associated Research & Development (R&D) across our wide range of industrial sectors.
Main responsibilities include:
- Materials selection, characterisation, and qualification
- Development of new and existing manufacturing technologies
- Process development and control
- Component development and testing
- Failure Analysis
- Materials research and development
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will hold a recognised formal Engineering or Science qualification and will have demonstrable experience in the relevant fields. Aluminium science/engineering experience is desirable.
- Engineering/Science qualification (BSc/BEng or equivalent minimum)
- Knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment
- Knowledge of processing and characterisation techniques
- Material failure analysis experience
- Ability to get to commute to site in Bridgenorth, 5 days a week
