Junior Field Engineer Location: Field Based (Scotland with a focus on central belt) Hours: Monday – Friday, 06:00 – 16:00 My client is a market-leading provider of cleaning equipment. With over 50 years of expertise, this company is a trusted partner across industries such as retail, health care, manufacturing, and education. They are expanding their team and are looking for individuals with mechanical skills, problem solving skills and a customer-focused mindset. This role offers structured training, career progression opportunities, and the chance to join a company that values sustainability and innovation. Key Details Training: Full training provided with an experienced engineer. Phase 1: PAT testing. Phase 2: Planned maintenance and servicing of machines. Phase 3: Handling breakdowns. Once fully trained, you\’ll work independently, visiting customer sites. A company vehicle (small van) will be provided once training is completed. During training, a car pool system may be used. A valid UK manual driving license is essential. Salary will be reviewed upon successful completion of training. The Role As a Junior Field Engineer , you\’ll be responsible for ensuring the cleaning equipment operates at optimum performance levels and meets compliance standards. You\’ll perform preventative maintenance, carry out PAT testing, and respond to breakdowns. You\’ll also interact directly with customers to provide an excellent level of service. Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance and PAT testing on cleaning equipment. Diagnose and carry out minor repairs on machinery. Update job details using the central database (Service Smart Pro). Communicate with customers to explain completed work and any additional requirements. Maintain and manage van stock efficiently. Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained, including regular checks. Coordinate daily schedules and routes with the Technical Services Team. Who We\’re Looking For This position is open to a wide range of candidates, including: Mechanical engineering graduates or those who have completed a mechanical engineering course or relevant qualification. Mechanics and engineers from the automotive, machinery, or equipment industries (or similar fields with transferable skills). Individuals without formal qualifications but with a mechanical mindset and practical experience working with tools, machinery, or equipment. What\’s On Offer?
