Overview
Manpower are looking for a 7.5T / HGV2 Driver to work for our client based in Coatbridge. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company, working in brand-new facilities with top-of-the-line equipment, while making a positive environmental impact.
Responsibilities
- Pre-trip inspection of the vehicle to ensure that it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations.
- Regular maintenance of the vehicle to ensure it remains in proper working order and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Driving the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, while adhering to traffic laws and complying with all safety regulations and procedures while operating the vehicle.
- Safely loading and unloading of cargo and ensuring it is secured according to safety regulations.
- Delivering fresh oil to the catering / restaurant trade and collecting used cooking oil.
- Making/taking payment for oil and the maintenance and accuracy of cash/pre-paid cards.
- Communicating with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues that arise during transport.
- Accurate recording of information following oil delivery and/or collection, e.g. completion of Waste Transfer Notes.
- Reporting of missed or failed deliveries on a daily basis to Microsite Manager.
- Build and maintain good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required.
Requirements
- Driving Licence & Clean Record: A valid UK driving licence with no points or endorsements. Valid CPC and Tacho cards.
- 7.5T and/or HGV2 Driving Experience: Proven experience driving 7.5T or HGV2 in the UK, with a solid understanding of road laws and regulations (6 months minimum).
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the Transport Office, customers, and other drivers.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Customer Service Orientation: A friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to engage with customers to enhance their experience.
- Sales Experience (Desirable): Experience in business-to-business sales and achieving sales targets as part of a driving role would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to handle unexpected situations and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, particularly when handling documents.
- Reliability & Flexibility: A strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
