Job Title: General Assistant – Household & Home Office Support
Reports To: Managing Director
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive General Assistant to oversee the smooth running of the Managing Director\’s home. This full-time position (Monday to Friday, flexible hours) combines hands-on household duties with light home-based administrative support. Discretion, trustworthiness, and the ability to work independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Household Responsibilities
Ensure the home is kept clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times
Cooking and meal preparation to suit the MD\’s preferences and dietary requirements
Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care
Grocery and household shopping, including online orders where required
Managing deliveries and tradespeople/contractors visiting the property
Running personal errands such as collecting dry cleaning, post office trips, or organising household repairs/maintenance
Home-Based Administrative Support
Sorting and organising household paperwork and records
Managing household-related correspondence, bills, and appointments
Booking services, reservations, or suppliers as required
Light administrative support for the MD relating to their professional work, carried out from home
Coordinating and supporting any occasional home events or gatherings
Skills & Requirements
Previous experience in a similar private household, PA, or housekeeper role preferred
Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities without supervision
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Professional, discreet, and trustworthy at all times
Good communication skills
Full UK driving licence (essential) and comfortable driving for errands
Must pass (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check
Practical, flexible, and hands-on approach to work
Working Hours & Benefits
Full-time, Monday to Friday – completely flexible hours to suit household needs
Primarily based at the MD\’s home
Mileage allowance and agreed expenses covered for all work-related travel
