Overview

Role: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Farnborough or Malvern (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 months

Rate: Up to £660/day Umbrella

The role:

  • Lead supply chain activity across allocated programme teams.
  • Provide procurement expertise to stakeholders, shaping commercially robust, cost‑effective solutions.
  • Lead supplier and partner negotiations, including large tech vendors.
  • Define, plan and deliver end‑to‑end procurement strategies that meet customer, technical and schedule requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring governance and process compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and share best practice.

Essential:

  • Strong stakeholder management within a procurement/supply chain function.
  • Proven commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience.
  • Ownership of the full procurement lifecycle and supply chain risk management.
  • Experience working on Agile programmes, including implementing Agile terms in subcontracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate.
  • Track record of designing supply chain solutions that support winning new business and improving project delivery.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • MCIPS (or working towards) or equivalent.
  • Defence sector experience.
  • Knowledge of sustainable procurement/ESG.
