Salary: £48,000 - £54,000 Per Annum DOE
Location: Worcestershire
Are you a hands-on mechanic who enjoys solving problems and keeping things moving? One of our trusted clients near the Worcester area is on the lookout for a skilled HGV Technician to join their growing team. You will be part of a well-established operation that handles a busy fleet of vehicles, ensuring everything stays roadworthy, reliable, and ready to go. From inspections to diagnostics, you will take the lead in maintenance and repair across a range of trucks and trailers.
As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be hands-on with trucks and trailers, keeping them road-ready and safe. Think diagnostics, repairs, inspections, servicing and MOT prep. You will be working on a wide mix of mostly Mercedes & DAFs.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Routine maintenance, servicing and repairs
- Prepping vehicles for MOTs
- Diagnosing faults (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
- Managing parts inventory and sourcing
- Completing repair documentation and following H&S standards
Shifts (rotating weekly):
- Week A: Mon-Fri, 8.5 hrs/day (morning shift)
- Week B: Mon-Fri, 8.5 hrs/day (afternoon shift) Sat 07:00 to 12:00
Location: On-site in Kidderminster
Pay: From £18.00 per hour (based on experience/qualifications). On-call bonus also available on a 4-week rotation.
What You Will Need:
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle (or equivalent), or time-served experience
- Strong HGV, van and trailer knowledge
- A logical, hands-on approach to mechanical issues
- A proactive attitude and strong work ethic
- HGV licence a bonus - but not essential
