We are currently recruiting Drivers Mates to assist with kitchen and white goods deliveries across the UK. Working from our Darlington depot, you will be part of a two-person delivery team, providing a high-quality, room-of-choice delivery service to residential customers.
This is a physically demanding role with early starts and long days. Applicants must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting (up to 5 tonnes per day), often involving stairs or flats. A valid UK Driving Licence is essential, as you may be required to drive a van.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the driver in delivering kitchen units and white goods (cookers, dishwashers, washing machines, etc.)
- Deliver items to specific rooms inside customers' homes
- Operate a handheld device to scan deliveries and capture photos for proof of delivery
- Uphold a 'white glove' delivery standard - being professional, careful, and courteous
- Ensure all goods are handled with care and delivered safely
- Support the driver with navigation and route management
- Physically fit - able to lift and move heavy items throughout the day
- Full UK Driving Licence - essential
- Comfortable with early starts (4-5am) and long shifts
- Good customer service skills and professional attitude
- Basic knowledge of using handheld electronic devices (e.g. scanners/tablets)
- Reliable and punctual
