Class 1 Driver – Nights
Location: Tamworth, B77 5PR
Shifts: Sunday to Thursday, 18:00 – 03:00
Pay Rate: £17.95
We\’re looking for a reliable, experienced Class 1 Driver to join our client team! If you\’re driven, detail-oriented, and ready to take on new challenges, this could be the role for you
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial vehicles (up to 44 tonnes), including rigid trucks, articulated lorries, and trailer wagons
- Trunking up to Newcastle every night in a wagon and drag
- Provide excellent customer service with direct client communication
- Supervise and assist with unloading goods
- Lift and carry goods, ensuring loads are securely fastened
- Adapt routes based on traffic reports when necessary
- Complete delivery paperwork or use electronic apps
- Follow Driver Hours Tacho and road regulations
- Drive efficiently to maximize fuel savings and reduce wear and tear
- Perform daily vehicle checks (start and end of shift)
- Report and manage any incidents or accidents
- Complete FORS eLearning modules and stay up to date on required training
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence, Driver CPC card, and digital tachograph card
- Good physical and mental health for driving
- Previous experience in a transport or warehouse and distribution environment
- Knowledge of distribution operations, driver\’s hour regulations, and tachograph rules
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
