Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Electrician, your duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs.
- Diagnosing faults and undertaking effective repairs to electrical systems and equipment.
- Conducting inspection, testing and certification activities in accordance with BS7671 regulations.
- Ensuring all electrical systems remain safe, compliant and operational.
- Supporting the maintenance of a secure and well-managed environment.
- Working independently as well as collaboratively within a wider facilities management team.
- Completing associated maintenance documentation and records accurately.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (17th Edition candidates will also be considered with the willingness to upskill).
- Previous experience within maintenance, facilities management, building services, or a similar environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive approach to work with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Basic IT literacy.
Desirable
- Experience working within secure, highly regulated, or critical environments.
- Knowledge of electrical testing and inspection procedures.
- Understanding of wider building services systems.
