Our client is a technology-driven power engineering company specializing in high-voltage transmission solutions, particularly overhead transmission line (OHL) design and advanced insulation systems. The company combines engineering expertise with proprietary technologies - notably composite insulated cross arms (CICA) - to deliver more efficient, cost-effective transmission solutions.
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Head – Transmission Line Design to lead our technical capability in the UK and support business growth in the transmission sector. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and solution development, working closely with the UK CEO to drive project opportunities and deliver innovative transmission solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead transmission line (OHL) design activities across UK projects
- Provide technical direction on:
- Line routing and optimisation
- Conductor selection and uprating strategies
- Insulation coordination (including composite crossarm solutions)
- Electrical clearances, EMF and performance analysis
- Ensure compliance with UK standards (e.g. National Grid, SSE, SPEN requirements)
