The Role

As a TIG / MMA Welder, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out welding operations to radiographic standards
  • Conducting routine equipment inspections
  • Following established welding procedures and safety regulations, including fume control requirements
  • Identifying and reporting welding defects or potential issues
  • Ensuring weld traceability and quality control through weld identification practices
  • Completing all relevant quality documentation in line with project requirements
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance at all times

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

  • Proven experience welding to radiographic standards
  • Experience welding a variety of materials, particularly:
    • Carbon Steel
    • Austenitic Stainless Steel
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and welding procedures
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a highly regulated environment

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold one of the following:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, or a related discipline
  • Completed Welding Apprenticeship
  • Equivalent recognised apprenticeship in a welding discipline

In addition, candidates must hold:

  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport

Weld Test Requirements

Candidates will be required to successfully complete practical weld tests to ISO 9606 standards, including:

  • Carbon Steel Pipe Butt Weld (TIG)
  • Stainless Steel Pipe Butt Weld (TIG)
  • Multi-Pass Fillet Welds using MMA and TIG welding processes
  • Structural and pipe welding assessments in relevant welding positions
