Fire & Security Service & Maintenance Engineer
to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer seeking a varied role working across commercial and industrial sites, maintaining critical life safety and security systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, fault finding, testing, repairing and supporting a range of fire and security technologies while delivering a high standard of customer service. The position offers long-term career development, ongoing training and the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and systems. The Role As a Fire & Security Service & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits across customer sites. Responding to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call-outs. Diagnosing faults and identifying root causes of system issues. Carrying out repairs, remedial works, component replacements and system modifications. Testing systems to ensure full operational performance and compliance. Producing accurate service reports and maintenance records. Advising customers on system performance and recommended improvements. Supporting installation and commissioning activities where required. Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards. Systems Covered You will work across a range of systems including: Fire Alarm Systems CCTV Access Control Intruder Alarms Disabled Refuge Systems Public Address Systems Induction Loop Systems Associated Network and Infrastructure Systems Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience
Proven experience within the Fire & Security industry. Strong service, maintenance and fault-finding background. Experience working on a variety of fire alarm and electronic security systems. Ability to diagnose faults and provide effective solutions. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full UK Driving Licence. Technical Knowledge Applicants should demonstrate working knowledge of: BS 5839 Fire Detection & Alarm Systems BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations BS EN 50174 Cabling Installation Standards NSI Codes of Practice Relevant manufacturer standards and industry best practices Key Responsibilities
Service & Maintenance
Deliver planned maintenance and inspection programmes. Attend breakdowns and reactive call-outs. Carry out fault diagnosis, repairs and corrective actions. Complete system testing and verification. Identify remedial works and improvement opportunities. Compliance & Documentation
Complete all service reports, certificates and electronic records accurately. Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards and company procedures. Maintain high levels of technical documentation and record keeping. Customer Service
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Provide basic user training and system demonstrations where required. Deliver a consistently high standard of service. Health & Safety
Adhere to all health, safety and environmental procedures. Complete risk assessments and work safely at all times. Promote a positive health and safety culture across customer sites. What's on Offer?
