My client, a well-known flooring company based in the Sidcup area, is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Class 2 Delivery Driver to join their busy distribution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of flooring products to customers across London and the surrounding areas, while providing excellent customer service and representing the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
The ideal candidate will hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence, CPC Qualification Card, and Digital Tachograph Card, with previous multi-drop delivery experience being highly desirable. You will be responsible for carrying out daily vehicle checks, loading and unloading goods safely, completing delivery paperwork accurately, and ensuring all deliveries are made efficiently and on time.
This role requires someone with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Experience within the flooring, construction, or building materials sector would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver flooring materials safely and efficiently to customer sites and distribution centres.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is maintained to the highest standards.
- Load and unload flooring products, ensuring all goods are secured correctly.
- Complete delivery paperwork and electronic PODs accurately.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all driving legislation, including Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations.
- Maintain high levels of customer service at all times.
- Liaise with the transport team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
Desirable Requirements
- Experience delivering flooring, building materials, or other heavy products.
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience using handheld delivery devices
