A large specialist organisation near Didcot, Oxfordshire are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the established team to have responsibility for providing both technical support and assisting the team in performing building services and building fabric maintenance.

The key duties of the post are as follows:

  • Undertake the mechanical maintenance of Electrical / Mechanical and Building Services Infrastructure.
  • Assist with monitoring and testing duties, as required by the Statutory Authorities.
  • Problem solving and fault diagnosis on all site services, including air conditioning and air handling units, piped gases, hot and cold-water systems (including unvented and pressurised systems), MTHW/LTHW systems, Chilled Water, refrigeration, etc.
  • Liaison and supervision of external contractors, service engineers and suppliers, including sub-contractor technical audits.
  • Liaison / communication with various departments / teams across to safely achieve maintenance activities.
  • Carry out and assist with the preparation of safety risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participate in Health and Safety and Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate to the post.
  • Assist in the control of spares stock, as well identifying future spare requirements.
  • Support the Senior Maintenance Technician where required and assist in completing the planned maintenance programme.
  • Plan individual workload and identify any potential resources (i.e. MEWP).
  • Undertake non maintenance duties (i.e. small project work) as and when the need arises.
  • You may be required to participate in the “on call” arrangements during commissioning and operation.

You should have experience from some (not all) of the following areas:

  • HVAC systems.
  • Process & Chilled Water systems.
  • LTHW/MTHW/Compressed Air systems.
  • Drainage/Vacuum Drainage systems.
  • Liquid/Gaseous Nitrogen Systems.
  • Equipment controls and BMS (building management system).
  • Quality Control Systems, Work Planning and Safe Systems of work.
  • HSE legislation.
