Manpower is recruiting on behalf of a well-established public sector organisation for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring premises are maintained in a safe, secure, and operational condition. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining a welcoming environment and carrying out a variety of caretaking, maintenance, and health and safety duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening, closing, and securing the premises
- Conducting weekly and monthly safety checks, including:
- Fire alarms
- Fire doors
- Fire extinguishers
- Emergency lighting
- Carrying out water flushing procedures for Legionella prevention
- Waste collection and disposal
- Undertaking minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
- Providing access and support to contractors when required
- Ensuring the site remains safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements
Requirements:
- Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site support experience
- Basic DIY and maintenance skills
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
- Reliable, trustworthy, and professional approach to work
- Strong communication and organisational skills
