Our client is a well established and growing contractor delivering critical overhead line infrastructure as part of a long term framework with a leading UK Transmission Network Operator. The business specialises in the construction, refurbishment, and upgrade of high voltage transmission assets and operates to the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme control.

Due to continued workload and framework commitments, they are looking to expand their overhead line delivery team.

This role will suit an experienced Site Manager or Supervisor with a strong background in UK transmission overhead line works. You will take full responsibility for day to day site operations, leading the delivery phase with a clear focus on safety leadership, coordination of works, and achievement of programme milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all site activities for live OHL projects, including tower erection, conductor stringing, foundations, access tracks, and associated civil works.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant operations, and logistics.
  • Deliver site inductions, Toolbox Talks, and daily briefings.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update Risk Assessments and Method Statements in line with client and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor progress against the construction programme and report to the Project Manager.
  • Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture on site.
  • Manage site records, permits, labour tracking, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate civil, mechanical, and electrical installation activities.
  • Support testing, inspection, and project handover activities.
Candidate Requirements
  • SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, and Full UK Driving Licence, essential.
  • Previous experience or authorisation under UK Transmission Safety Rules, desirable.
  • Proven experience managing UK transmission OHL projects at 132kV and above.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and site enforcement procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
