Our Client is hiring a Quality Inspector to undertake inspections across the value stream, helping ensure only conforming parts progress through the business-efficiently and to time.
What you'll be doing:
- Inspect parts from components through to full assemblies, following procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings and inspection control plans
- Read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications to confirm conformity
- Apply understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Use manual and machine inspection measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, FARO arm, CMM, XRF technology and hardness testing)
- Raise NCR/QN documentation with clear problem statements
- Use business systems and data collection tools (including SAP and Visual FAI, plus others as required)
- Support continuous improvement by helping improve the inspection process
- Plan and conduct product process audits
- Lead basic problem-solving activities and work closely with quality, engineering and manufacturing to keep product flowing
What you'll bring:
- Apprentice engineering
- An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although training will be given.
- 1 year's similar experience in an engineering manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Ability to operate various inspection and test equipment.
- Demonstrable ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Previous experience as a quality inspector within Aerospace.
