Operations Manager in Chelmsford

Southend-on-Sea / Hybrid Working (3 days office-based) £50,000 per annum ? Fixed-Term Contract - 6 Months - Driving Licence Required Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a background in Facilities Management, Security, Contact Centres, or Service Delivery? We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Operations Manager to join a well-established organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead operational teams, drive service excellence, and build strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio of contracts. The Role Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will oversee the day-to-day management of facilities management and contact centre services, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and outstanding customer service delivery. Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop operational teams, supervisors and team leaders. Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Oversee service delivery across facilities management contracts, including cleaning, security, catering and community-based services. Monitor and improve operational performance through KPI management and reporting. Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, COSHH requirements, risk assessments and operational procedures. Support and maintain SIA accreditation standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients. Manage operational budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies. Resolve client issues effectively while maintaining exceptional service standards. What We're Looking For ? Proven experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced environment ? Strong leadership and people management skills ? Budget management and financial planning experience ? Customer-focused approach with excellent stakeholder management skills ? Strong communication and organisational abilities ? Experience within Facilities Management, Security Services, Contact Centres or a related operational environment ? Ability to work independently and make informed decisions ? Full UK Driving Licence Desirable
Facilities Management, Project Management or Business Administration qualification Experience delivering training Knowledge of industry regulations and best practice standards What's on Offer?
