Manpower Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join our client''s maintenance and property services team on a full-time, fixed-term contract. This is a fixed Term Contract, for up to 12 weeks, with the opportunity to be extended. For the right candidate, we would be paying £19.12ph and would be working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Ideally you would have a driving licence, as main responsibilities are based in Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing carpentry, repairs, maintenance, and general multi‑trade work across domestic, commercial, or public‑sector properties. This is a hands‑on role requiring high‑quality workmanship, reliability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out first-and second-fix carpentry work.
- Install, repair, and maintain doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves, flooring, and other timber fixtures.
- Complete general building repairs and maintenance.
- Undertake additional multi-trade duties, including basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, decorating, and minor repairs.
- Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
- Work from job instructions, drawings, and maintenance schedules.
- Complete work to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Liaise professionally with customers, tenants, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Keep tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean and safe.
- Follow all company policies, risk assessments, and health and safety procedures.
- Report any further works, hazards, or materials required.
About you
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, Multi-Trade Operative, Maintenance Operative, or similar.
- Strong carpentry and joinery skills.
- Experience carrying out general property repairs and maintenance.
- The ability to complete basic tasks across other trades.
- Good attention to detail and pride in their workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A reliable, flexible, and professional approach.
- A full UK driving licence, if required for the role.
- Relevant qualifications or trade certifications, such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent, are desirable.
