Manpower UK seeks Litter Pickers for highways maintenance, based at its Cambridge depot. Working across the A120/A12 corridor, including Colchester, Braintree and Bishop's Stortford, crews collect company vehicles before travelling to assigned sites.
Day shifts run 07:30–16:30 at £12.71 per hour; night shifts operate 19:30–04:30 at £19.06 hourly.
This temporary contract starts immediately, offering at least two weeks initially, with possible ongoing placements.
Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather are essential. Applicants must reach the Cambridge depot independently and hold the right to work in the UK. Night work currently dominates demand, so flexibility regarding shift patterns is advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Litter picking along highways, verges and roadside areas
- Removing debris and waste from designated work zones
- Supporting the maintenance and cleanliness of the road network
- Working safely alongside traffic management operations
- Following site health and safety procedures at all times
- Loading and unloading equipment from company vehicles
- Reporting hazards, damaged infrastructure or issues found on site
- Working effectively as part of a highways maintenance team
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence required
- Own transport to travel to the Cambridge depot
- No more than 3 points on licence
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to commit to both day and night shifts when required
- Reliable, punctual and safety conscious
- SSSTS qualification advantageous (enhanced rates available)
