Up to 4 months Temporary with potential to be extended
£13 per hour – 37.5 Hours per week

Monday -Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Our client, a leading paint manufacturer, have an excellent opportunity for an experienced FLT Warehouse Operator to join their site in Birmingham.
This role provides support to the Logistics function within the Integrated Supply Chain on a COMAH site, with primary accountability for loading outbound vehicles, unloading raw materials deliveries from trailers & tankers, ensuring production have raw material levels maintained by manually stocking pallets & delivering drums & maintaining stock accuracy to a high level.
You will be expected to safely handle and store high hazard chemical goods in specified locations ensuring the recording of goods received is to a high standard, as well as finished goods being picked, organized and labelled ready for the daily collections in a busy warehouse environment and that all movements are accurately logged on the ERP (SAP) system.

You will also need to be a team player with a proactive attitude and also have the initiative to work on his/her own. You will need to support the site culture of functional & operational excellence, continuous improvement, accountability, professionalism and commitment to Company values and behaviours by following Centre of Excellence processes.

Role Requirements:

  • Counterbalance Fork-lift truck licence.
  • Completed secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Able to demonstrate good verbal and written English skills.
  • Good IT literacy: SAP or other ERP systems including Microsoft office.
  • Basic Mathematics will be essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Needs to be flexible and a team player.

Experience Required:

  • Experience working in a busy warehousing environment (Chemical preferred) but not essential.
  • Previous experience working within a team and under own initiative.
  • Experience of problem solving and the ability to prioritise workloads accordingly.
