Role Summary
As part of this programme, we are looking for an experienced Telecoms engineer with current expertise in the design and implementation of VoIP networks. Experience in the design and security aspect of Military communication networks would also be valuable.
Key accountabilities of the role
- To assist in the design of a new VoIP system, and upgrades to current TDM & IP infrastructure, to deliver the new service capability.
- To maintain and administer the legacy PBX platforms.
- Ensuring new services and systems meet UK security requirements.
- Managing obsolescence within the existing TDM system to ensure the system remains supportable and compliant to security requirements.
- Managing the installation and configuration of new system elements.
- Test and commissioning of new equipment and services.
- Providing third line support to operations teams.
Essential skills and experience
- Excellent knowledge of TDM & VoIP network architectures.
- Working knowledge of multiple voice routing media, must include ISDN & SIP.
- Experience in the design and delivery of VoIP communication networks.
- Experience with hosted voice platforms.
- Have worked at a telecoms or satellite communication company.
Desirable skills and experience
- Good understanding of telephony billing & reporting platforms and software.
- Experience with the MILSATCOM domain nice to have.
- Unified Communications, Contact Centre technology and IVR structure & design.
- Experience in the design of military communication systems.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies nice to have.
Education and qualifications
- Certification/Accreditation in multiple vendor PBX & VoIP systems.
- Cisco accreditation – CCNA, CCNP an advantage.
