Role overview
Lead the delivery of high value (c. £5m per annum) or complex projects within an aviation engineering and innovation environment. Manage diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives and contractual commitments are met. Drive project performance across time, cost, quality, cash and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive engagement with customers, partners and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure safe and secure project delivery in line with relevant governance, lifecycle and review requirements.
- Own planning, forecasting and reporting of project financials and resource demand, keeping all data and tools accurate and up to date.
- Resolve project issues and conflicts, facilitating collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Contribute to business development activities including capture planning, delivery plans, risk registers and costings.
Skills and experience
- Proven leadership of complex projects, programmes or portfolios, typically 3-5 years at Senior Project Manager level or equivalent.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrable capability aligned to International Project Management Association Level B (or equivalent).
- Experience delivering projects to multiple customers and working in cross-functional teams, including HR and other enabling functions.
Desirable qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- Recognised project management qualification (e.g. APM PPQ, PRINCE2 or similar).
- Background in defence, aerospace or closely related sectors.
