A key client is a market‑leading provider of modular accommodation, supplying temporary, semi‑permanent and permanent modular buildings for hire and sale across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth at their Southampton depot, they are looking for an experienced Large Counterbalance B3 Forklift Driver to join their team on a long‑term basis.
Pay: £16.00 per hour
Overtime: Time and a half
Hours: Monday‑Friday, 40‑hour week
Extras: Company benefits, sociable daytime hours, stable, well‑established business.
The role
You will be working in the yard and workshop area, handling a variety of modular cabins and associated equipment ahead of them going out on hire and when they return. This is a hands‑on, physical role with a strong focus on safety, accuracy and teamwork.
Main responsibilities
- Loading and unloading modular cabin units on and off vehicles using a B3 counterbalance forklift.
- Moving and storing cabins safely around the yard prior to hire and after off-hire.
- Selecting and positioning units as required by the workshop team.
- Carrying out basic daily checks and general upkeep of the forklift and other MHE.
- Loading furniture into cabins before dispatch and removing it when units return.
- Fitting and removing internal partitions and other fixtures within the cabins.
About you
This role would suit an experienced FLT driver who enjoys working in a busy yard environment and takes pride in working safely and efficiently. You will need:
- A valid B3 Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a yard, depot, industrial or construction setting.
- A strong team focus and willingness to help with a variety of manual tasks.
- Good communication skills and a positive, reliable attitude.
