My client is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and experienced Import & Export Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Heanor Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all export activities comply with UK and international regulations. This role involves managing export documentation, conducting compliance audits, and providing guidance on import & export control laws. This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months, working Monday-Friday.
Your key responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all Import & export activities comply with UK Import & export control laws, international regulations, and company policies.
- Export Documentation Management: Prepare and review export documentation, including Import & export licenses, shipping documents, and customs declarations.
- Import Documentation Management: Ensure all goods and services being Imported follow UK regulations.
- Advisor: Work closely with logistics, sales, procurement and finance.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct regular audits of export processes to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on Import & export compliance procedures and regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Liaison: Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, internal customers, suppliers regarding Import & export compliance issues & Customs Agents.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all Import & export transactions and compliance activities.
Prospective applicants will need to have a Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field and preferably a professional qualification in export compliance (e.g., Certified Export Compliance Professional). We would require a minimum of 3 years of experience in Import & export compliance or a related field with a strong understanding of UK Import & export control laws and international trade regulations including the Windsor Framework for business conducted via Northern-Ireland. Experience with Import & export compliance software and tools is also preferable. For this role you should have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently and strong written and verbal communication skills.
