HGV Class 1

Job Title: HGV Driver (Class 1) Location: Northern Ireland Job Type: Full-time Pay: £36,000+ Expected Hours: 45 per week We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver to join a well-established logistics and freight forwarding team. Working a consistent Monday to Friday schedule (7am – 5pm), the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods to various locations across Northern Ireland. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and excellent time management, with the driver playing a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities: Operate HGV and trailer units in full compliance with traffic laws and company safety standards Transport and handle container and curtainsider trailer loads Secure loads properly to ensure safe transit Perform daily vehicle checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain accurate delivery documentation and records Communicate effectively with the in-house transport team regarding schedules and any delays Optimize routes to improve efficiency and reduce fuel consumption Adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures Undertake other duties as required Requirements: Full HGV Class 1 Licence Driver CPC qualification Full, clean UK driving licence Minimum 2 years\’ experience with HGV container driving Proven experience with both container and curtainsider trailer loads Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices Good communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work overtime when required Benefits: Competitive hourly pay Annual performance-based bonus Health & wellbeing programme (Westfield Health care plan) Life insurance cover (£50,000 policy) On-site parking Company-provided uniform Training & development opportunities 29 days holiday (inclusive of 8 statutory days) Company pension scheme Schedule: Monday to Friday Day shift: 7am – 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) Experience: HGV Container Driving: 2 years (required) Licence/Certification: Valid UK Driving Licence (required) Driver CPC (required) Skills: HGV Driver Container
