Are you an experienced EHS professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a busy manufacturing environment? We are currently recruiting for an EHS Officer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Workington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical Health, Safety and Environmental experience who enjoys working across a site, engaging with people at all levels and driving continuous improvement.

The Role

Working closely with the EHS Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving Health, Safety and Environmental standards across the site. You will work closely with production, engineering, operations and management teams, providing practical EHS support, guidance and coaching while helping to develop a strong and proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of EHS training and awareness programmes.
  • Coach and mentor managers, supervisors and employees on EHS standards and best practice.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the site's safety culture.
  • Assist with internal and external audit programmes and ensure appropriate actions are followed through.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS systems and processes within the site.
