Manpower is recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Housekeeper within a mental health unit.
Location: Bridgend (due to its location you must have your own transport).
Job type: Part time
Hours: 20 hours per week
Shifts: Alternating 9.30 am to 1.30 pm or 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm
Rota: 3 week rota working 5 shifts of 4 hours per week with a long weekend every third week
Hourly rate: £12.70 weekdays | £17.91 Saturdays & Nights | £23.24 Sundays & Bank Holidays
This is a dual role combining both catering and cleaning duties. You will play an important part in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming setting for patients and staff, as well as preparing simple, home cooked style meals.
Duties include:
- Preparing and cooking meals for patients
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the unit
- Cleaning patient areas, communal spaces and staff areas
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Supporting the team with general housekeeping tasks as required
Requirements:
- A confident cook who is comfortable preparing meals from scratch (essential)
- A good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Some experience of commercial cleaning would be advantageous but not essential as full training is provided
- A caring and respectful manner suitable for a secure mental health setting
- Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR
- Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate (Manpower can support with this)
- Standard DBS check (Manpower pay for the cost of the check)
- Satisfactory references
