We are currently recruiting Class 1 Drivers to join our busy transport operation based in Scunthorpe. Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out trunking and delivery work, which may include dock work.
  • Safely collecting and delivering trailers between depots, docks, or customer sites.
  • Ensuring loads are secured correctly and all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Maintaining vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects promptly.
  • Reversing and manoeuvring safely within busy yards and dock environments.
  • Working professionally with site staff and adhering to all health, safety, and security procedures.

Dock/Port Work Assignments

  • Back onto loading bays or dock spaces for cargo loading/unloading.
  • Liaise with dock or port personnel to follow safety and security requirements.
  • May handle container, curtainsider, or palletised freight.

Experience in a dock or similar environment is advantageous but not essential, as full site guidance will be provided.

Requirements

  • Full UK Class 1 licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Minimum 6 months of Class 1 driving experience (preferred).
  • No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, IN, or DD endorsements).
  • Strong understanding of road safety and driver compliance.
  • A professional, reliable attitude and excellent communication skills.
