Manpower is currently seeking a Part-Time Engineer (Days) to work for our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment. The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. This is a permanent role, requiring 15 hours, 2 Days per week, Thursday and Friday, 7am - 3pm OR could possibly be 18.75 hrs 2.5 days per week, Wednesday (half day), Thursday, Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying between £32,435 - £40,555 FTE, plus there is a flexible allowance of 10%, depending upon experience.

Role Overview

The Line Focused Technician owns the PM and Tags Management processes for the line. They are responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses and building technical capability in operators.

Structure

Reporting to the Cell leader, working closely with the Cell team and the operators and shift craft assigned to the cell.

Process / Tool Ownership and Responsibilities

  • Owns the PM process for the line, including deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the process and standards.
  • Owns the PM standards, including technical documentation and continuously drives improvement of the PM standards.
  • Owns the Tags Management & planning process for the line and facilitates the weekly PM and Tags planning meeting.
  • Liaise with the maintenance planner to procure parts and support the maintenance planning with updating the spare parts inventory policies.
  • Owns the Breakdown Elimination process for the line, including deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the process.
  • Leads the Breakdown Elimination Process.

People responsibilities

  • Owns the building of technical capability in operators.
  • Coaches operators and craft on processes.

Loss elimination responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of distinct areas of the 90-day plan and weekly/monthly plans.
  • Supports and leads problem solving sessions.

Skills Required

Essential Criteria

  • Computer literacy
  • Effective communicator & strong team member
  • Apprentice trained in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Multi skilled preferred (or working towards)
  • IOSH Managing safely and Process Safety
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrable experience of building capability in others
  • Hazardous Area Electrical Training (electrical or dual only)

Personal Qualities

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude
  • Good team worker
  • Proven record of operational improvement
  • Demonstrated ability of teaching/coaching basic problem-solving tools at all levels
