The Role
As a Principal Vetronics Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a critical role in advancing military technology and the modernizing of defence systems.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the design, development and integration of electronic systems in a range of commercial, defence, and other military vehicles:
- Design and develop vehicle electronic systems
- Integrate electronic components and systems into vehicles
- Prepare detailed technical documentation including system specifications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines
- Develop innovative solutions for improvement of vehicle systems
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and can be based out of Bristol, Walsall or Plymouth.
Experience Required:
- Strong understanding of electrical / electronic engineering
- Understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems
- Experience of 230V, 24V and 12V system design and integration
- Knowledge of CAN Bus, Ethernet and other vehicular communication protocols
- Understanding of military standards preferable
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in relevant engineering subject (Electrical, Electronic etc)
- Ideally working towards a professional membership with a recognised engineering institution
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
