Manpower UK is recruiting a Vehicle Porter on behalf of our Public Sector client.
Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Job type: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm
Contract: Temporary, ongoing
Hourly rate: Β£14.27 per hour
Start date: Immediate subject to satisfactory standard DBS check and references
The Role
As a Vehicle Porter, you will play a key role in supporting the Commissioning and Decommissioning Team by driving vehicles across Wales and assisting with the preparation of vehicles ready for operational use. This is a varied role that combines driving, vehicle logistics, preparation work and general warehouse duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes across various locations within Wales
- Collect vehicles that are due to be decommissioned and deliver newly commissioned vehicles to designated locations
- Assist with the commissioning and decommissioning of vehicles
- Put equipment kits together ready for vehicles to be commissioned
- Carry out general warehouse duties as required
- Complete necessary paperwork for vehicle collection, delivery and inspections
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely and efficient operations
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with the ability to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes C1 Category
- Previous experience driving vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle handling procedures
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be flexible and able to travel across Wales as required
