Manpower is recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Beverage Assistant. This is a patient facing role within a busy hospital ward environment where you will support the delivery of hot and cold drinks to patients and visitors while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and cleanliness.
The ideal candidate will have previous health care experience and/or catering experience and be confident working in a patient facing ward environment supporting patient care and refreshment service delivery.
Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Contract: Temporary
Duration: 3 months
Start date: ASAP
Pay rate: £12.21 - £12.73 with enhanced rates on the weekends
Hours of work: You will work 3 shifts in Week 1 and 4 shifts in Week 2 as part of a fortnightly rota. Shifts are either 07:00 to 13:30 or 12:30 to 19:00, Monday to Sunday.
Main Duties:
- Ask patients and visitors for their beverage preferences
- Check with nursing staff for any updates on patient hydration instructions including nil by mouth
- Prepare and deliver hot and cold beverages to patients and visitors
- Replenish water jugs and beakers regularly
- Ensure beverage areas and equipment are kept clean and hygienic at all times
- Complete related paperwork as required
Requirements:
- Standard DBS required (Manpower pays for the cost of this)
- Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate essential (Manpower can support with this)
- Comfortable working in a patient facing hospital environment
- Previous catering experience in a healthcare or retail setting
- Satisfactory written references and DBS check
