A growing construction and property development team is seeking a multi-skilled Clerk of Works & Quality Inspector to join their on-site team in Edinburgh, overseeing quality on live PBSA and apart-hotel projects.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will monitor and report on the quality of works throughout the construction process, ensuring compliance with contract documents, building regulations, and home warranty provider requirements. Responsibilities include inspecting all elements of the build, from RC frames, internal partitions, passive fire-stopping installations, and façade construction, to final finishes. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards from the construction phase through to Practical Completion and the end of the Defects Liability Period, helping the team deliver quality and value to all stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven site experience in construction
  • Strong understanding of home warranty provider requirements
  • ICWCI / MCIOB accreditation (desirable)
  • Technically proficient with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Team player, capable of working alongside other clerks of works and quality inspectors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with snagging software
