Electrician / Maintenance Assistant on behalf of a specialist educational setting in Kent.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified electrician looking for a part-time role where they can combine electrical expertise with wider maintenance responsibilities across a large and diverse estate.
Working within the Estates & Facilities team, you will help ensure the site's buildings, facilities, and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained, supporting a positive environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding.
- Support statutory compliance including electrical safety inspections and emergency lighting checks.
- Undertake PAT testing and routine electrical maintenance.
- Complete general maintenance tasks including repairs, decorating, plumbing, and basic carpentry.
- Support fire safety checks, building inspections, and health & safety compliance activities.
- Assist with site events, building upkeep, and seasonal maintenance tasks.
- Respond to reactive maintenance issues and support planned maintenance programmes.
About You
- Qualified Electrician with NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience in electrical installation, testing, and fault diagnosis.
- Good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.
- Practical maintenance skills and willingness to support a variety of site tasks.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
