Our client in South Oxfordshire is looking for a Composite Technician - secondary bonding / moulding laminator to help produce high-quality GRP moulded components for manufacturing construction. What you'll be doing:
- Produce and assemble secondary bonding & moulding lamination components to meet production targets
- Cut and prepare reinforcement and core materials for lay-up
- Mix laminating polyester resins, carry out fibre layup and consolidation (wet lamination/open moulding)
- Apply gelcoat using brush and spray methods, including repair and finishing of gelcoat surfaces
- Work from laminate drawings to prepare components for finishing and production teams
- Support trimming, grinding, finishing and quality inspection of finished mouldings
- Complete component tracking information and documentation to support batch tracking and traceability
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, usable state, and report breakages/deficiencies to the Team Leader
- Keep the production area clean, tidy and compliant with Health & Safety expectations
- Assist with training new staff when required
What you'll bring:
- Experience with wet lamination and open moulding techniques (GRP moulding production is specifically helpful)
- A practical understanding of cutting, assembly and finishing processes for composite components
- Strong attention to detail and a pride in producing work to a high standard
- Clear communication skills - able to understand and pass on instructions effectively
- The ability to work on your own initiative, stay organised, and prioritise to hit daily/weekly targets
- A problem-solving mindset and a positive attitude that helps build an effective team culture
Monday to Friday, 7am - 3.00pm, competitive salary, 25 days holiday, Private Healthcare & Pension and social club and activities. You must be able to drive due to the location.
