Role Description

This is a full‑time, Fire Door & Fire Stopping Contract Manager role based in Market Harborough. The Contract Manager will oversee fire door and fire stopping projects from survey and specification through to installation, inspection and sign‑off, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations and certification requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing contracts and project programmes
  • Coordinating site teams and subcontractors
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and building managers to maintain clear communication and expectations
  • Preparing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments and installation records
  • Monitoring quality, safety and budget performance
  • Supporting ongoing maintenance activities
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of fire protection processes
  • Assisting with audits and certification requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of fire protection principles, including Fire Protection and Fire Suppression Systems, applied to fire doors and fire stopping works
  • Experience in Fire Safety and Life Safety requirements for commercial, healthcare and education environments
  • Understanding of Fire Prevention practices and fire risk mitigation in occupied and live sites
  • Proven experience managing fire door and fire stopping contracts, including planning, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, building regulations and third‑party certification schemes (e.g., BM TRADA Q‑Mark)
  • Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical reports related to fire compartmentation
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 or equivalent)
  • Relevant technical or construction qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC/HND, degree or equivalent experience) in construction, fire protection or a related field
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
