Purpose: To provide technical service to our workshop including maintaining our charter fleet plus privately owned craft. To provide general service and maintenance capabilities to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and maintain privately owned leisure boats and our charter fleet of cruisers and day boats including upgrades and new installations.
- Working with a variety of different skill sets covering engine maintenance, servicing and fault finding; electrical repairs and upgrades, marine generators, inverters & battery systems; basic marine plumbing and hydraulic systems.
- Complete service and general repairs, installations, replacement parts, fault finding and general maintenance of machinery.
- Participate in boat lifting and manoeuvring through our hoist and lift.
- Participate in chocking of craft on hard stand.
- Operate basic electronic control fault diagnostics on certain engines and heaters (tuition given).
- Winterise/de-winterising.
- Boat handling tuition given for testing, demonstrating and emergency situations to assist grounded vessels and/or vessels in distress.
- General maintenance to company goods including golf course machinery etc.
- Liaise with customers and look after customers' property when so required in a polite and professional manner showing duty of care at all times.
- Participate in training/induction activity in conjunction with the management.
- Monitor health and safety matters and participate in risk assessment activity as required.
- Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the management.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
- Experience of petrol and diesel engines.
- Competent around 12 and 24v electronics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of good problem solving and decision making abilities.
- Able to work flexibly to ensure business needs are met.
Desirable:
- Qualified mechanics apprenticeship.
- Qualification or completed modules of a qualification covering diesel and petrol engine theory.
- Knowledge and experience of engine and basic transmission rebuilds.
- Basic welding experience.
- General marine experience.
- Knowledge of Lough Erne.
- Competent around hydraulics.
- Ability to work in confined engine bays and good hands ability for mechanical tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including effective influencing skills.
- Competent in driving tractors and operating machinery.
- You’re a friendly person capable of problem-solving on the go, often interacting with customers, occasionally working at quite a pace.
- You have a full driver's licence.
Core Working hours:
November - February: 5 day week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
March - October: 5 day week, Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5.30pm with a day off during the week in lieu of the Saturday. Some flexibility is available for Saturday work. Some on-call only work required outside these times on a rota basis during season including some Sundays.
Benefits:
