We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Restaurant & Bars Manager to join our hotel; you should be able to deliver amazing hospitality and thrive on the challenge of always exceeding guest’s expectations.

You will be expected to achieve a level of service through the constant monitoring of brand standards, be highly attentive to detail and be capable of delivering consistent standards.

Key responsibilities for the Assistant Restaurant & Bars Manager are;

  • Supply and ensure the highest possible level of guest care and service to our guests; internal and external.
  • Oversee multiple outlets ensuring that service delivery and customer care to both hotel and external guests is maintained at all times.
  • Check and monitor that all beverage and food items are prepared and served according to company standards and within statutory regulations.

Promote additional sales/up selling whenever possible but always within the social responsibilities of the licensee.

  • Work alongside the Restaurant & Bars Manager to oversee all operations of the restaurant and bars including, staffing, sales, employee rotas, departmental budgets, wage control, scheduling and holidays.
  • Manage all restaurant and bar areas, ensuring the smooth running of breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner operations.
  • Acquire a full working knowledge of the menu, tariff and wine lists together with a full knowledge of the hotel’s food and beverage service policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the standards of work, working practices, productivity and standards of customer care of all employees within the department.
  • Allocate jobs and 'stations' checking that tasks have been completed before, during and after service periods.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Restaurant & Bars Manager.
  • Assist with greeting, seating and order taking. Help guests with menu item selection and wine requirements; always anticipating their needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with staff (e. g. pre-session team briefings) and senior management/colleagues.
  • Analyse key areas of improvement by utilising KPI’s and other performance targets.
  • Help with organising and running of special events. (e. g. weddings/ private dinners).
  • Assist with staff training; departmental inductions, job skills, safety, statutory requirements and development to encourage them to upsell where possible.
  • Support the implementation of new procedures, practices and standards where applicable.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience of working within a hotel or restaurant operation, ideally in a 4 star environment
  • Be able to deliver excellent customer service at all times and train others to follow a similar example
  • Be smart and professional in appearance with a "can do" attitude and excellent communication skills
