Manor High is an 11-16 academy on the edge of the City of Leicester serving Oadby and the surrounding villages. With around 950 students and 210 admitted each year, we are consistently high performing and proud of our culture of high expectations. As an Assistant Pastoral Leader you will work alongside and be led by the Standards and Progress Leader for your year group to ensure high quality pastoral care for that year group. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a first point of contact for parental enquiries and supporting reintegration and behaviour and attendance work
- Supporting safeguarding processes, completing accurate records and following up on triaged issues
- Leading on mental health and wellbeing support for students in your year group and working closely with our SEND and safeguarding teams
- Managing daily attendance and punctuality follow-up, and supporting targeted interventions to improve attendance
- Working 1:1 with students who need additional support, investigating incidents, and supporting restorative approaches to behaviour
We are looking for someone who:
- Builds positive, respectful relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- Communicates clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
- Has experience of working with young people (ideally pastorally, in a school or education setting) and supporting those with additional needs (SEND, behavioural or mental health)
- Demonstrates sound knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to promote the welfare of children
- Is organised and accurate in record keeping and comfortable using school systems to manage data
- Is resilient, positive and proactive - able to respond calmly in unplanned situations and support colleagues
- Is committed to professional development and to supporting the school ethos of 'Excellent People, Excellent Results'
