Job Summary

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

• Providing effective medical care to the assigned population.

Job responsibilities

The Salaried General Practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, providing high-quality medical services to the practice population.

The post holder will deliver an excellent standard of patient-centred clinical care while ensuring compliance with the General Medical Services (GMS) contract, relevant legislation, and practice policies.

The post holder will uphold the General Medical Council's standards of good medical practice and contribute to the effective management and development of the practice.

They will lead by example and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Care
• Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred medical care to the practice's eligible population.
• Provide services in accordance with the GMS contract and all applicable local and national requirements.
• Prescribe medicines generically, where appropriate, and in line with local and national prescribing guidance.
• Diagnose, monitor, and effectively manage long-term conditions.
• Undertake telephone triage and duty doctor responsibilities on a rotational basis.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical records in accordance with professional standards, practice policies, and relevant guidance.
• Follow recognised clinical guidelines, evidence-based practice, and recommendations arising from clinical audits.

• Primary care experience, ideally at least 2 years as a salaried GP.
