Purpose
To proactively manage the costing within product manufacturing, including benchmarking of factories and suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective prices are negotiated and agreed without impacting on existing relationships, quality or efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Request cost prices and cost sheets to factories.
- Analyse cost sheets and challenge factories in case of cost or consumption discrepancies/inconsistencies.
- Request prices from material suppliers, negotiate them and log them in the PLM system.
- Proactively look for opportunities for cost saving across factories before and after market – with the support of Head of Product and Footwear Technician.
- Provide target costs to Product Development for materials/accessories.
- Track historical costs for carryover materials and styles.
- Work closely with the Pricing Analyst.
- Work closely with factories and suppliers.
- Manage costs in PLM and ERP systems and verify data integrity.
- Any other tasks as requested.
Skills and Experience Required
- Fluent in Italian and English is required.
- Technical knowledge of luxury footwear is preferable (ideally women’s and men’s).
- Knowledge of materials in relation to features, benefits and pricing.
- Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and ensure delivery of results within tight deadlines.
- Excellent numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build relationships and network easily, both internally and externally.
- Representing Manolo Blahnik products and values with passion.
