About the role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Wholesale Platforms with 15-20 years of experience to lead a critical portfolio of wholesale technology platforms supporting a major telecom transformation programme.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for platform strategy, delivery governance, operational performance, stakeholder management, and the successful execution of large-scale change across a complex wholesale technology landscape. The role leads both business-critical platform operations and future platform evolution while working closely with engineering, architecture, product, delivery and supplier teams.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of a large-scale wholesale technology estate, influence strategic transformation programmes, and lead a highly visible portfolio at the heart of one of the UK's most significant telecom technology transformations.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end Wholesale Platforms portfolio and technology roadmap.
  

• Lead delivery, release governance and operational readiness across multiple platform domains.
  

• Drive platform reliability, performance, scalability and cost optimisation.
  

• Govern demand management, prioritisation and investment decisions.
  

• Build strong relationships with business, product, engineering and supplier stakeholders.
  

• Lead multidisciplinary platform, architecture, release and delivery teams.
  

• Ensure successful delivery of strategic transformation programmes and platform enhancements.
  

• Drive continuous improvement, automation and operational excellence.
  

Experience/Qualifications:

• Significant experience leading telecom technology or platform organisations.
  

• Strong knowledge of Wholesale Telecom, OSS/BSS, Service Assurance, Fulfilment or Field Service domains.
  

• Proven experience managing large-scale technology transformation programmes.
  

• Strong release, delivery and operational governance expertise.
  

• Experience leading distributed teams and managing third-party suppliers.
  

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at Executive and Director level.
  

• Commercial awareness and a strong focus on business outcomes.
  

• Desirable Experience
  

• Wholesale telecoms, Fixed Network or Fibre environments.
  

• API and integration platforms.
  

• Platform modernisation and cloud transformation.
  

• Experience within large telecom operators or managed service environments.
