Our client, a leading global service provider, is recruiting a SI Design Engineer to join their project in the UK.
Position Type: Contract

Location: Reading UK
Responsibilities and duties:
- Responsible for creating the End to End ORAN High Level Design document for our ORAN customer, containing consolidated inputs from each one of the ORAN vendors. The HLD should capture application, compute, network, storage, security, orchestration, and high availability aspects.
- Own and create the Low level design document with inputs from each of the ORAN vendors, this document will be used as a reference for further system testing so it is important that this is delivered to a high standard.
- As the ORAN Design lead you will be responsible to coordinate the inputs from the other ORAN vendors, this will involve chairing the design workshops and review cycles to ensure a high quality delivery is maintained.
- Provide regular HLD and LLD progress updates and delivery milestones.
- Immediately notify the Samsung Project Delivery manager if there are any vendor delays or document quality input issues.
- Work closely with the System Integration Technical Architects to ensure the HLD and LLDs are fully aligned with the End to End Solution scope.
- Obtain customer sign off of the HLD and LLD documents before moving to the testing and implementation phases.
- Provide minor updates to the HLD and LLDs based on customer change requests post sign off.
Requirements:
- Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Telecoms, Electronics or Computer Science/IT.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Design role in the telecom/IT sector.
- Proven track record in the delivery of complex large scale multi vendor System Integration.
- Design process and documentation.
- Previous experience of designing multi vendor network virtualization solutions such as Open RAN, virtualised RAN/Core.
- Proven customer and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional communicator both internally and towards the customer.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to anticipate customer’s needs and act accordingly.
- Excellent level of presentation, communication and planning skills.
- Ability to prepare & deliver complex technical concepts to a high standard within tight timescales.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Excellent documentation writing skills.
- Exceptional ability to navigate large and complex organisations to build relationships and influencing capabilities.
