Position Details:

  • Part Time Position Monday To Friday Start Time 14:30hrs
  • Unloads freight from inbound trailers and loads outbound trailers using a handheld scanner as well as staging overflow freight for pickup by linehaul drivers at night, as required.
  • Distributes and receives freight for local P&D Drivers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed (on handheld device).
  • Counts and weighs items to ensure conformance to the shipper's bill of lading.
  • Arranges freight in specified sequence for maximum usage of trailer space and cut‑off times.
  • Operates a forklift to transport items from the dock warehouse to the trailer.
  • Must take an active role in safety and maintenance of the warehouse by sweeping the floor, proper storage of dunnage, etc.
  • Responsible for end‑of‑day labelling, handling drivers, and managing paperwork in the dispatch office.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HIMS/Dangerous Goods Certificate / Tow Motor Certificate (will train).
  • Developed problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and judgment skills.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs sometimes repetitive.
  • Ability to multitask and manage various tasks successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate our internal computer systems, handheld scanning devices, AS400, RVI Scanning Tool.
  • Dependable and able to work in a dock environment in a secure and efficient manner while meeting timelines for departures.
  • Knowledge of the AS400 system would be an asset.
  • Willing to train the right applicant.
  • Have own personal transportation to and from work.
