Responsibilities include delivering an exceptional level of customer service through effective co-ordination of Service Engineers and other resources, ensuring that all jobs are completed efficiently and timely. Utilise mechanical knowledge and experience to allocate Engineers based on their competence levels and experience. Proactively manage and progress repairs using available resources and engage specialists when required.

Engage regularly with customers, both existing and new, to develop relationships aimed at building the service revenue stream and pursue all departmental revenue opportunities. Manage the company's health and safety requirements and work in accordance with departmental Health, Safety, Environmental and quality aspects in line with company policy and UK Law.

Deal professionally and timely with all departmental performance concerns and identify development opportunities. Maximise revenue opportunities on all work streams by using all available resources. Proactively visit customers to generate work or address enquiries or complaints. Produce weekly performance KPIs for the department and monitor, review, and report monthly financial performance.

Attend monthly company management meetings and manufacturers service meetings as required. Distribute work to departmental resources according to priority. Manage the service admin team to ensure adherence to company procedures and expectations. Ensure all purchase and sales invoices are processed in a timely manner. Manage all engineers daily and ensure high levels of utilisation.

Recruit new staff and manage any concerns or under-performance. Follow company processes and escalate situations beyond your authority. Work collaboratively with all internal departments and stakeholders. Perform any other duties reasonably requested by your manager.

Required skills include excellent communication and negotiation skills, decision-making ability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work as a team member while maintaining independence. A strong focus on business, commercial, financial, and customer needs is essential, along with a good telephone manner and customer service skills. A high level of understanding of mechanics and associated terminology is required, along with reliability, honesty, and trustworthiness. Flexibility, resilience, a strong sense of ownership, and an enthusiastic work ethic are also important.

Required Knowledge & Experience: NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (not essential), IOSH Managing Safely (not essential), and 3 years of industry-related supervisory or management experience (desired). Additional important requirements include knowledge of Google Sheets and Docs or Microsoft equivalent and holding a full driving licence.
