We are working with an established freight forwarding and logistics company seeking a Road Freight Operations / Freight Forwarding Coordinator to join their Birmingham-based team. This role focuses on European road freight import and export operations, supporting customers across Western Europe. The Birmingham office operates with a close-knit, experienced team and offers a hybrid working environment after probation.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience
- Permanent role, Monday to Friday, hybrid working (after probation)

Role Overview
The successful candidate will manage end-to-end road freight import and export shipments, coordinating movements across Western Europe. You will liaise with customers, hauliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient freight forwarding operations, with a strong focus on service and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate road freight import and export shipments across Western Europe
- Manage day-to-day freight forwarding operations from booking through to delivery
- Liaise with customers, hauliers, and overseas partners
- Prepare and manage operational documentation
- Monitor shipments and proactively manage delays or issues
- Work closely with customer service and customs colleagues
Experience & Skills
- Good understanding of European road freight import/export
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, office-based environment
- Italian or French language skills would be beneficial but are not essential
